Summary

 

The course will provide participants with an understanding of the best practices currently used to deter, prevent, and respond to attacks on personnel and facilities.  Through lectures and practical exercises, participants will become acquainted with weapons of mass destruction, improvised explosive devices, physical security principles, and protective security operations.  In addition, the course will cover the current capabilities of terrorist organizations operating in Southeast Asia.

 

Course Objectives:

 

 

·         Participants will be able to identify specific means of past and potential attacks using weapons of mass destruction.

 

·         Participants will become acquainted with the current capabilities of terrorist organizations operating in their region.

 

·         Participants will learn the correlation between surveillance detection and attack recognition regarding protective operations.

 

 

 

 

·         Participants will learn to conduct physical security surveys to identify vulnerabilities.

 

·         Participants will become familiar with the design and use of improvised explosive devices.

 

·         Participants will learn the necessary techniques and methods for initiating criminal investigations of attacks on personnel and facilities.
